Description
In A Happier Dimension
We grew up surrounded by bright plastic trinkets, advertisements, and brands. These things became part of our world. In my new works, I try to look at elements of pop culture in a new way. In pop art, we found joy – in bright packaging, screaming slogans. But also numbness, stupefaction from the endless consumption of images. My paintings are a dialogue with this psychedelic side of mass culture. Relaxed, “chilled-out” people are its creation and victims at the same time. I capture the enjoyment of the world of bright illusions and the numbness from their excess.
